Privacy policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026.
whenever.day is an iPhone app and keyboard that helps you find openings in your calendars and share availability as text. This policy describes the app, keyboard, and supporting website.
Calendars and Google data
With your permission, the app reads calendars on your iPhone through Apple EventKit, including calendar identifiers and names, event titles and times, all-day and availability status, and your invitation response. This processing happens on your device.
Connecting Google is optional. Each account has a separate Google authorization flow. Google Sign-In provides your account identifier, email and basic profile information; the app uses your identifier and email to distinguish connected accounts. It also obtains credentials that allow repeat access without signing in each time.
The app requests read-only calendar and task permissions to access:
- Calendar identifiers, names, and selected/primary status, so you can select calendars.
- Busy start and end times, to calculate free intervals.
- Event identifiers, names, start and end times, all-day status, cancellation and availability status, and your own invitation response, to display your day and determine which events block time.
- Task-list identifiers and names; task identifiers, titles, due dates and completion/deletion status, to display incomplete tasks. Tasks do not block availability.
The app does not request event descriptions, attachments or task notes. It does not edit or delete events or tasks. If required Google permissions are declined, the account remains disconnected; you can still use local calendars or the manual picker.
When data is accessed
The app refreshes calendars and day details when it starts and when you connect accounts, refresh, or change relevant calendar settings. Tapping the timeline displays those details. With Allow Full Access, the keyboard reads the shared availability file and refreshes permitted local calendars and connected Google accounts only when you tap Refresh. Without Full Access, the manual day-and-time picker works on the device.
Keyboard and sharing
The keyboard does not read or transmit surrounding text or record what you type. It inserts only the phrase or times you choose. When you insert availability into another app, that app receives the inserted text, and its privacy policy applies. You decide whether to send it to another person.
Calendar and task information is processed on your iPhone. The app and keyboard make encrypted HTTPS requests directly to Google; we do not operate a server that receives your calendar data or Google credentials. We do not sell Google data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Google processes API and sign-in requests under its own policies.
Storage and retention
Google refresh credentials, account identifiers, and email addresses are stored in a shared iOS Keychain access group using device-only protection. Credentials are not written to UserDefaults or the availability file. Google Sign-In also manages its session in the iOS Keychain.
Event and task details are held in app memory during use and replaced during refreshes; the API client does not persist response bodies in the URL cache. The app stores selected calendar identifiers, preferences, templates, and a snapshot containing free intervals, calculation time and availability rules in its local shared app container. Refresh warnings can contain a connected account email. The keyboard snapshot does not contain event or task titles. The snapshot is replaced on successful refresh; a failed refresh may preserve the last available snapshot.
Disconnecting and deleting data
In the app, open calendar sources and tap Disconnect next to an account. The app asks Google to revoke that account's authorization, removes its shared credentials and calendar selections, clears the app's loaded day details and availability snapshot, then recalculates from remaining sources. If revocation fails, it reports the error and keeps the connection so you can retry. Revocation can also invalidate this app's authorization for that Google account on other devices.
You can remove whenever.day access at https://myaccount.google.com/connections. Revoke access before uninstalling: iOS Keychain entries may survive app removal. Deleting the app and its keyboard removes their app-container data when iOS removes the shared container. Removing a connection does not delete your original Google events or tasks, and does not remove the same calendar from iPhone Calendar; manage that account separately in iOS Settings. Text you already inserted or sent through another app is not deleted.
Website and support
The supporting website does not request access to your Google account or calendar. Hosting providers process ordinary web request information, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times, to deliver and protect the website. The site does not add advertising trackers or request calendar data. If you contact support, your email address and message are used to respond. Please do not send passwords, Google credentials or private calendar content.
Google Limited Use
whenever.day's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. These commitments also apply to availability derived from Google data.
